
Aligarh is situated at a distance of 130 km. South-East of Delhi on Delhi-Howrah Rail route and the Grand Trunk Road. The latitude is 27054’N and longitude is 78005’E. The climate is hot any dry in summer and cold & dry in winter with an intervening rainy season. The Institute is located only 3 km away from the main city.
The Food Craft Institute, is located in the Campus of renowned Central University of India, known as Aligarh Muslim University. The Institute had been setup under the aegis of the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India in 1984, as an autonomous institute registered under the societies Registration Act 1860 and is governed by an Executive Body ‘Board of Governor’s which consists of the representatives of the Central Government, State Government, and Aligarh Muslim University. At present the Institute is financed through a Grant-in-Aid by the Department of Tourism, Government of Uttar Pradesh. Since establishment, it has been awarding its own Diploma and Certificates. However presently all the Diploma Courses have been affiliated with the National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology (NCHMCT), Noida and their rules of admission, examination and award of Diploma etc. will apply. The Institute offers the following courses, Post-Graduate Diploma, Diploma and Certificate.
The Food Craft Institute is committed to the academic excellence in Hospitality Education. The Ministry of Tourism, Government of India was awarded “Best Food Craft Institute for All Round Performance” for the Year 2011-12.
